[Adopted 9-9-2014 by Ord. No. MC-4855]
The City Council of the City of Camden hereby determines to utilize the authority granted by N.J.S.A. 34:1B-1 et seq. to establish urban growth zones within the meaning of the New Jersey Economic Development Authority Act.
The following area shall be designated an urban growth zone:
A. 
An area beginning at the intersection of the west side of Delaware Avenue and the north side of Martin Luther King Boulevard; then proceeding east along the north side of Martin Luther King Boulevard to the east side of South Front Street; then south along the east side of South Front Street to the south side of Harbor Boulevard; then west along the south side of Harbor Boulevard to the west side of Delaware Avenue; then north along the west side of Delaware Avenue to the point and place of beginning.
A. 
Projects located in the urban growth zone shall be exempt from land use ordinances and regulations; however, such projects shall be subject to EDA site plan review and approval, including a technical review and comment (but not approval) by City Planning officials, a technical review and comment (but not approval) by City Construction officials, and the presentation of the project to the City Planning Board for a courtesy review hearing for public comment.
B. 
The City of Camden shall retain jurisdiction over construction permits and inspections for projects in the urban growth zone.
The designation of the urban growth zone shall expire 10 years from the date of this article is adopted.
