Whereas, the Town of Webster became a Suburban
Town governed pursuant to Article 3-A of the Town Law of the State
of New York on January 1, 1967, and whereas, § 1662-a of
the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York provides that
Suburban Towns governed pursuant to the aforesaid Article 3-A of the
Town Law may establish maximum speeds at which vehicles may proceed
within such Suburban Town on streets, roads and highways other than
state highways maintained by the state on which the State Traffic
Commission shall have established higher or lower speed limits than
the statutory 50 miles per hour speed limit provided by § 1620
of the Vehicle and Traffic Law, now, therefore, be it resolved as
follows.
The maximum speed limit for vehicles within
the Town of Webster on all roads on which the Town has the power and
authority to set such maximum speed limits shall be 30 miles per hour
except for such roads as this Board may specifically designate that
higher or lower speed limits shall apply.

Editor’s Note: This resolution approved the highway
jurisdictional transfer from the State of New York to the County of
Monroe for Lake Road from the Irondequoit Bay Outlet Bridge to NYS
Route 250.
This article shall apply only to public roads
within the Town of Webster lying outside the corporate limits of the
Village of Webster.
