No person, organization, or entity shall operate or conduct
within the Borough of Medford Lakes any game of chance, as defined
the Bingo Licensing Law (N.J.S.A. 5:8-24 et. seq.) and the Raffles
Licensing Law (N.J.S.A. 5:8-50 et seq.) as the same may be hereinafter
amended and supplemented, without first having applied for and received
a permit pursuant to state law and this chapter.
The Borough Clerk of the Borough of Medford Lakes shall be responsible
for approving all games of chance permits within the Borough. The
office of the Borough Clerk shall, as a part of their regular report
to Borough Council, provide a summary of all requested and issued
permits under this chapter.
Any person, firm, corporation, association or legal party whatsoever who or which shall violate, or authorize or procure a violation, or cause to be violated, any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be punishable as provided under the general penalty provisions found at § 1-15 of this Code. This, however, shall not apply against any municipal employee or officer that authorizes action by permit or otherwise in the ordinary course of their duties.
