The purpose of these standards is to facilitate the movement of police, fire and hospital vehicles, to lessen congestion in the streets and to prevent traffic from blocking streets, alleys and entrances to buildings.
A. 
In the case of any building, structure or premises, the use of which is not specifically mentioned herein, the provisions for a use which is so mentioned and to which said use is similar shall apply.
B. 
Whenever a building permit has been granted and the plans so approved contain off-street parking space provisions, the subsequent use of such property shall be deemed to be conditional upon the unqualified continuance and availability of the parking space provisions contained in such plans. Any other use of such property shall be a violation of this chapter.
C. 
All off-street parking areas that make it necessary for vehicles to back out directly into a public road, street or highway are prohibited except for single-family residences. Individual dwelling units which are contiguous within a residential structure and which have their own individual driveway shall be considered as a single-family residence for the purpose of this parking requirement.
D. 
No parking area shall be used for the sale, repair or serving of any vehicles, equipment, materials or supplies, except that this regulation shall not apply to parking areas in a residential district.
E. 
Each automobile parking space shall be clearly marked and not less than 170 square feet of appropriate dimensions for the parking of an automobile, exclusive of the access drives. There shall be provided entrances, exits and driveways adequate to connect each parking space with a public right-of-way.
F. 
Use requirements:
(1) 
The number of off-street parking spaces to be provided shall not be less than the following:

1 for every 3 beds
Restaurant
1 for every 4 seats
Bowling alley
3 for each bowling lane
(2) 
All other general business including, but not limited to, repair garage, filling station, laundromat, barber or beauty shop, doctor or dental office, funeral home, wholesale establishment, office building and home office shall provide enough parking spaces for the convenience and safety of patrons and employees, consistent with the intent of this chapter.
(3) 
These requirements apply to all districts with the exception of the Central Business District (C-B).
As an aid to safe movement of vehicles at and near street intersections and in order to promote more adequate protection of the safety of children, pedestrians, operators of vehicles and property, for proposed construction hereafter, there shall be no obstruction placed between the street and the sidewalks of such street with the exception of shade trees.
