This article shall be known and designated as the "National Mechanical Code of the Borough of Mount Oliver."
The Council of the Borough of Mount Oliver hereby adopts the BOCA National Mechanical Code (Seventh Edition, 1990) as published by the Building Officials and Code Administrators International, Inc., and any amendments thereto or future editions thereof, as fully and completely as though said National Mechanical Code were set forth herein at length, except and unless otherwise provided to the contrary in the statutes of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the rules and regulations of the County of Allegheny and in any provisions in this chapter. Copies of the National Code may be examined during regular business hours at the office of the Borough Secretary of the Borough of Mount Oliver at 150 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15210.
The following sections of the National Mechanical Code, 1990 Edition as published by the Building Officials and Code Administrators International, Inc. (BOCA), are hereby revised by the following additions, deletions, changes and amendments (section numbers and article numbers refer to the corresponding sections and articles in the BOCA National Mechanical Code, 1990 Edition):
A. 
In Section M-100.1, insert "Borough of Mount Oliver" in place of "name of Jurisdiction."
B. 
In Section M-114.2, Periodic inspections, delete the entire section and insert the following: "The fees for all periodic inspections shall be as indicated from time to time by Borough Council."
C. 
Section M-114.3 shall be deleted and the following shall be inserted: "The fees for all mechanical work shall be as indicated from time to time by Borough Council."
D. 
Section M-117.4, Penalties, shall be amended to read as follows: "Any person, who shall violate a provision of this Code or shall fail to comply with any of the requirements thereof or who shall erect, construct, alter or repair mechanical equipment or systems in violation of an approved plan or directive of the Code Official or of a permit or certificate issued under the provisions of this Code shall be guilty of a violation, punishable by a fine of not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000.), plus costs of prosecution, for each offense and, in default of payment of such fine and costs, to imprisonment in the county jail for a term not exceeding thirty (30) days."

E. 
In Section M-118.2, Unlawful continuance, insert "fifty dollars ($50.)" in place of the first "specify amount" and insert "five hundred dollars ($500.)" in place of the second "specify amount."
