There is hereby created the position of Superintendent of Parks and Playgrounds, who shall be appointed by the City Manager. The position shall report to the Recreation Director and the City Manager.
The Superintendent of Parks and Playgrounds shall perform the following duties:
A. 
Be responsible for maintaining all City-owned parks and those buildings situated on the property of City parks. Maintenance shall include the Recreation Center and Senior Citizen Center.
B. 
Be responsible for supervising all staff which is assigned by the City Manager to work for the Parks Department.
C. 
Be responsible for the ordering and inventory of materials necessary to maintain the buildings and parks.
The Superintendent of Parks and Playgrounds shall be experienced in the maintenance and supervision of buildings and grounds.
Working hours shall be the hours of 7:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. However, the person shall be on call by the Recreation Director and City Manager 24 hours a day for maintenance emergencies.
The Superintendent of Parks and Playgrounds shall receive an annual salary as designated by the Salary Ordinance, to be paid at the same time and in the same manner as other City employees are paid. [1]
