Motion adopted that the Selectmen adopt and
establish regulations with respect to the laying out and construction
of sidewalks pursuant to the authority granted by MGL c. 83, § 25,
which shall provide in substance that whenever the Selectmen shall,
at the request or with the acquiescence of abutting landowners, order
the construction of a new sidewalk or the reconstruction of an existing
sidewalk with more permanent materials, they shall provide in said
order for the assessment of 1/2 the cost upon the abutting estates,
as provided in MGL c. 83, § 26.
