This article, adopting the swan as the official town bird, will regulate and prohibit its wanton or willful destruction or injury and is adopted under the police power of the Town of Stony Point and the general welfare of its residents.
The Town of Stony Point hereby does adopt the swan as its official town bird.
The town bird is hereby declared a protected species throughout the Town of Stony Point.
Any person or person knowingly and willfully kills, maims, destroys or injures the town bird, the swan, shall be punished by a fine of not more than $1,000 or be imprisoned for not more than one year, or both such fine and imprisonment.
