Operation of snowmobiles on highways and public ways of the Town and of the County of Orange shall be subject to the applicable provisions of Articles 21 through 27 of PRHPL, the rules and regulations of the Office of Parks and Recreation and the rules, restrictions and conditions set forth in §§ 131-5 and 131-7 of this chapter.
A.
Town streets and highways. Only those streets or highways
recommended by the Town of Warwick Chief of Police and Town of Warwick Recreation
Commission and approved by the Town Board shall be designated for the purpose
of operation of snowmobiles on the shoulders and inside banks thereof as authorized
by § 25.05 of PRHPL.
B.
County streets and highways. Streets or highways or portions thereof of the County of Orange may be designated for the purpose of operation of snowmobiles on the shoulders and inside banks thereof as authorized by § 25.05 of PRHPL and in accordance with the procedure outlined in Subsection A above and provided that prior written approval of the County Superintendent of Highways has been obtained (PRHPL § 25.09, Subdivision 1).
No person shall operate a snowmobile on any designated public street
or highway between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
