There is hereby created the office of Municipal Public Defender,
who shall defend such indigent defendants in the Municipal Court of
the Township of Cranford as shall be assigned pursuant to law by the
Municipal Court Judge.
The Municipal Public Defender shall be appointed by the Township
Committee by a majority vote for a term of one year beginning on the
first day of January of each year and ending on the 31st day of December
of each year.

The Municipal Public Defender shall receive such compensation
(e.g., hourly, per diem, annual or other basis) as the Township Committee
may fix from time to time by ordinance.
