It is hereby ordained, in the interest of public safety and pursuant to the provisions of the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code, that it shall be unlawful to traverse any bridge set forth below with any vehicle or attached combination of vehicles having a gross weight in excess of the maximum set forth below for such bridge:[1]

Editor's Note: The schedule was amended at time of adoption of Code (see Ch. 1, General Provisions, Art. II) to delete the weight restriction of 24,000 pounds for Buck Road between Route 322 and North Buck Road.
The aforesaid maximum gross weight limit shall be posted with appropriate signs on either side of the bridge, giving notice of the weight limitation.
Any person or entity violating the provision of § 245-12 above, pursuant to the provisions of the Vehicle Code, shall, upon conviction in a summary proceeding, be liable for a fine of $150, plus $150 for each 500 pounds or part thereof in excess of 3,000 pounds over the maximum allowable gross weight, together with costs of prosecution.
