The benefits of § 18 of the Public
Officers Law shall be benefits which are conferred upon officers and
employees of the Village of Yorkville, as such officers and employees
are defined by § 18 of the Public Officers Law.
The Village of Yorkville shall be liable for
all costs incurred under this chapter.
The Village of Yorkville is hereby authorized
and empowered to purchase a suitable policy or policies of insurance
from any insurance company created by or under the laws of this state
or authorized by law to transact business in this state against any
liability imposed by the provisions of § 18 of the Public
Officers Law and the enactment of this chapter.
