Editor's Note: Former Ch. 23, Police Department, adopted as
follows: Art. I, 1-5-1983 by L.L. No. 1-1983; Art. II, 6-28-1984
by L.L. No. 4-1984, was repealed 5-8-1991 by L.L. No. 2-1991, which
also provided that "The Village of Centre Island may hire
a part-time, full-time or Provisional Chief of Police in accordance
with the requirements imposed by the New York State and Nassau County
Civil Service Commissions and any other New York State or federal
law. Such part-time, full-time or Provisional Chief of Police must
be a resident of Centre Island at the time he/she is hired and must
continue such residency for as long as he/she retains the position
of Centre Island Village Police Chief.”
