Editor's Note: Former Article I, General Powers and Duties,
adopted 8-26-1974 STM, Art. 15 ( Ch. III, Secs. 1 through 6 of the
Revised Bylaws, as amended 11-13-1989 STM, Art. 15, was deleted due
to the enactment of the Charter (Ch. 184, Acts of 1992). For current
provisions regarding the powers and duties of the Board of Selectmen,
see the Charter.

The Town establishes three-year terms for the Board of Selectmen
commencing with the 1986 Annual Town Election, at which election there
shall be one Selectman elected for a one-year term, one Selectman
elected for a two-year term and one Selectman elected for a three-year
term,[1] and thereafter each Selectman shall be elected for a full
three-year term.[2]

Editor's Note: Pursuant to the Charter, the Board of
Selectmen now has five members. At a Special Town Election held 11-17-1992,
two additional Selectmen were elected. All five members of the Board
serve three-year terms.

Editor's Note: Former Art. III, Administrative Assistant,
adopted 5-6-1985 ATM, Art. 32, which immediately followed this section,
was deleted pursuant to the Charter (Ch. 184, Acts of 1992). The Town
Manager now appoints the Administrative Assistant.
