The Town establishes three-year terms for the Board of Selectmen commencing with the 1986 Annual Town Election, at which election there shall be one Selectman elected for a one-year term, one Selectman elected for a two-year term and one Selectman elected for a three-year term,[1] and thereafter each Selectman shall be elected for a full three-year term.[2]

Editor's Note: Pursuant to the Charter, the Board of Selectmen now has five members. At a Special Town Election held 11-17-1992, two additional Selectmen were elected. All five members of the Board serve three-year terms.
