There is hereby adopted by the Borough of Towanda, County of Bradford and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, for the purpose of establishing rules and regulations for the construction, alteration, repair, location and use of detached one- and two-family dwellings, that certain model code marked and designated as the "2006 International Residential Code for One- and Two-Family Dwellings," published by the International Code Council, Inc., and the whole thereof, save and except such portions as are hereinafter deleted, modified or amended, and of which not less than three copies have been and now are filed in the office of the Secretary of the Borough of Towanda, Bradford County, Pennsylvania, and the same hereby is adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at length herein, and from and after the date of the passage and publication of this article, the provisions thereof shall be controlling in the construction of all buildings and other subjects therein contained within the corporate limits of the Borough of Towanda, and shall be known as the "Towanda One- and Two-Family Dwelling Code." It is the intent of this article that all future additions and revisions of the 2006 International Residential Code for One- and Two-Family Dwellings shall be deemed to have been adopted by reference by the Council of the Borough of Towanda as soon as the same shall be published.

In all respects, the designation of enforcing officials, the schedule of fees and the provisions for violations and penalties shall be the same as those contained in the Towanda Building Code.[1]
