It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation, whether principal or agent, to violate or fail to comply with the following regulations pertaining to speed of motor vehicles upon the highways within the Borough of Towanda or to be a party thereto under the penalties herein provided.

It shall be unlawful to operate or drive a motor vehicle upon the streets or highways of the Borough of Towanda in excess of 25 miles per hour as indicated by official signs erected by Borough authorities in compliance with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation regulations, except upon such streets and highways for which a different maximum speed may be designated by ordinance from time to time.
It shall be unlawful for any driver or operator of a motor vehicle to operate said vehicle upon the highways of Towanda Borough in excess of the speed limits fixed by act or acts of Assembly of Pennsylvania now in force or hereafter to be enacted.

Any person, firm or corporation violating any provision of this article, upon summary conviction thereof, shall be sentenced in accordance with the penalties prescribed in the Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Code.
