A program of fire, life safety and emergency equipment inspections is authorized for the following facilities located in Towamencin Township: residential rental units, industrial facilities, commercial facilities, retail businesses, banks and all other retail and wholesale facilities, educational and day-care facilities, and places of worship.
The program will be a cooperative endeavor between the Township and the community under the jurisdiction of the Fire Marshal, the Deputy Fire Marshals and the Code Enforcement Department of Towamencin Township.
The inspections will be completed per the requirements of the BOCA National Building Code, the International One- and Two-Family Dwelling Code, the BOCA Fire Prevention Code, the BOCA Plumbing Code, the International Property Maintenance Code, and any other applicable Township codes or ordinances, during normal working hours (9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.) and will include, but will not be limited to, the following items, in applicable circumstances:

Means of egress.

Fire Department access.
E. 
Electric service and panels.
F. 
Gas service.
G. 
Room occupancy loads.
H. 
Special exhausting and ducting equipment.

Elevator equipment and systems.
J. 
Hazardous materials storage and information.
K. 
Special hazards.
L. 
Truss identification emblems.

The biennial fees for the fire, life safety and emergency equipment inspections are as established in the Towamencin Township Fee Schedule as adopted, from time to time, by resolution of the Board of Supervisors.[1]

Any person, corporation, or association in violation of this article shall, upon conviction thereof in a summary proceeding, be guilty of a summary offense and subject to payment of a fine of not less than $25 nor more than $300 and the costs of prosecution, including reasonable attorney's fees of the Township, and in default thereof to imprisonment in Montgomery County Prison as provided by law.
Nothing in this article shall be construed to affect any suit or proceeding now pending in any court or any actions required, or liability incurred, or any cause or causes of action incurred or existing, under any act or ordinance repealed hereby. No right or remedy of any character shall be lost, impaired, or affected by this article.
