A. 
Section 9-183a of the Connecticut General Statutes, as amended, provides that the number of Justices of the Peace for each town shall be equal to 1/3 the number of jurors to which such Town is by law entitled.
B. 
By law, the Town of Putnam is entitled to 96 jurors.
C. 
There is no need for the election of 32 Justices of the Peace in the Town of Putnam.
D. 
Section 9-183a of the Connecticut General Statutes, as amended, provides that any town (by ordinance) may provide for the election of a lesser number of Justices of the Peace for such town.

The number of Justices of the Peace for the Town of Putnam shall be fixed at 24.
