The maximum occupancy of any dwelling unit shall not exceed the following requirements:
A. 
Required space for dwelling units. Every dwelling unit shall contain a minimum gross floor area of not less than 150 square feet for the first occupant and 100 square feet for each additional occupant. The floor area shall be calculated on the basis of the total area of all habitable rooms.
B. 
Required space for sleeping rooms. In every dwelling unit, every room occupied for sleeping purposes by one occupant shall have a minimum gross floor area of at least 70 square feet. Every room occupied for sleeping purposes by more than one occupant shall contain at least 50 square feet of floor area for each occupant thereof.
C. 
"Dwelling unit" shall mean a single unit providing complete, independent living facilities for one or more person, including permanent provisions for living, sleeping, eating cooking and sanitation.
A. 
A person shall not occupy or let to another for occupancy any dwelling unit for the purpose of living therein which does not comply with this article.
B. 
No building permit shall issue for any building or dwelling unit that does not comply with this article.
C. 
Any person, violating this article shall be subject to § 1-2 of this Code.
