The following specific acts, conditions and things are each declared to be or may become public health nuisance and are prohibited:
A. 
Depositing garbage.
(1) 
Permitting or disposing of garbage, leftovers or of dead animals or parts thereof on the surface of the ground.
(2) 
The placing or depositing of garbage, leftovers or any dead animal or vegetable wastes in containers not made of metal or plastic and not firmly covered.
(3) 
The placing or depositing of garbage, leftovers or any animal or vegetable wastes in open containers or in paper bags or cartons.
(4) 
Permitting or depositing of any fruit, leftovers or garbage on a compost pile unless covered with at least two inches of soil.
B. 
Excremental matter.
(1) 
Permitting or allowing of any human excrement or waste to remain or flow on the surface of the ground.
(2) 
Permitting or allowing of any animal waste to flow or accumulate on the surface of the ground.
C. 
Rubbish or refuse.
(1) 
The dumping or depositing of cans, bottles, paper, cartons, rags, metal and other rubbish or refuse on the surface of the ground.
(2) 
The placing of cans, bottles, paper, cartons, rags, metal and other rubbish or refuse in receptacles not made of waterproof material.
(3) 
Permitting or accumulating of any junk, trash or refuse on porches or in front, side or rear yards.
D. 
Privy vaults.
(1) 
Permitting or allowing of any privy vault or outhouse that is not flyproof or not provided with self-closing doors and seat covers.
E. 
Sanitary facilities in buildings.
(1) 
Permitting or allowing of any person to work or to live in a building without adequate supply of running water.
(2) 
Permitting or allowing of any person to work or to live in a building without adequate toilet facilities.
(3) 
Permitting any part of the plumbing system or the plumbing fixtures to be in defective working order in a building used by persons working or living therein.

G. 
Insects and vermin.
(1) 
Permitting or allowing of any mosquito larvae or pupae to exist in any body of water, such as a pond, ditch, pool or rain barrel.
(2) 
Permitting or allowing of any situation or condition to exist that is beneficial to or engenders the breeding of flies, mosquitoes, rats and other vermin.
H. 
Drinking water.
(1) 
Polluting of any wells, streams, springs or lakes, the water of which is used for drinking purposes.
I. 
Poisons.
(1) 
The selling of or the giving away of any poisonous substances unless such substances are clearly and legibly labeled.
(2) 
Permitting or using poisonous gas for the extermination of insects or vermin inside of buildings without first obtaining a permit from the governing body of the Borough of Lindenwold.
J. 
Uncovered food.
(1) 
The selling of or giving away or the displaying of uncovered or unprotected bread, rolls, pastry, candy or other food which requires no washing or cooking before being eaten.
K. 
Poisonous plants; weeds.
(1) 
Permitting or allowing poison ivy, poison oak or other poisonous plant to be grown within 25 feet of any public sidewalk, public street, party line or building.
(2) 
Permitting or allowing of weeds or underbrush to grow more than six inches above the ground from the first day of May to the last day of October.
(3) 
Permitting or allowing the flowering of any ragweed or other noxious weed.
L. 
Food establishments.
(1) 
Permitting or allowing the floors, the walls and the ceilings of food establishments to be unsanitary and in poor repair.
(2) 
Using stoves, grills, ranges, deep fat fryers or broilers in food establishments without an adequate exhaust ventilating system or without a hood and fireproof rear wall.
M. 
Medicines.
(1) 
The selling or distribution of medicine, remedies, medical literature or remedial, curative or prophylactic devices upon the streets or from house to house or from vending machines without a permit from the governing body of the Borough of Lindenwold.
N. 
Spitting.
(1) 
Expectorating in public places except in a handkerchief or in a paper tissue.
(2) 
Permitting or allowing of dirty cuspidors or spitting troughs in public places.
O. 
Obnoxious trades.
(1) 
The carrying on of any trade or business in such a manner as to be obnoxious or offensive.
P. 
Common towels and cups.
(1) 
Permitting or supplying of any common towels in public places.
(2) 
Permitting or allowing of common drinking cups in public places.
Q. 
Public vehicles.
(1) 
Permitting or maintaining of any vehicle used for public transportation in unsanitary condition.
R. 
Contamination of food.
(1) 
The keeping of food or drink which is sold or dispensed in such a manner as to allow insects, animals, dirt or other foreign or injurious contamination to come in contact with it.
(2) 
Permitting or allowing of any animals, flies, insects, roaches, rats or any vermin in establishments where food or drinks are served, processed, stored or prepared.
S. 
Vicious dogs.
(1) 
The keeping of any dog that molests or bites pedestrians without provocation.
T. 
Noises.
(1) 
Permitting or causing of any noise that is objectionable, annoying or aggravating.
U. 
Gases or odors.
(1) 
Permitting or causing of any gases, fumes, coal dust or odors that are offensive, annoying, poisonous or nauseating.
V. 
Beehives.

(1) 
Permitting or allowing of beehives to be less than 150 feet from any adjacent building occupied by human beings except that of the owner. This subsection shall not apply to the breeding or keeping of honeybees, or any action related thereto, as prescribed in N.J.S.A. 40:48-1.5.

X. 
Endangering health.
(1) 
Permitting or allowing of any matter, thing, condition or act which is or may become detrimental, annoying, offensive or a menace to the health of the inhabitants of this municipality.
Y. 
Burning of animals.
(1) 
Permitting or allowing of burning or incineration of animals.
