The Borough of Barnegat Light shall have the authority to issue permits for weddings and similar special events to be conducted on the Ocean Beach or Bay Beach areas.
The Borough of Barnegat Light shall have the authority to issue permits for weddings and similar special events to be conducted at the Borough gazebo, or such other recreation area as may be permitted by the Borough.
An applicant for a special event permit for the use of the beach, gazebo or other recreational area shall complete an application stating the name and address of the applicant and describing the activity proposed to be conducted and the date and time thereof, the number of expected participants, and the name, telephone number and e-mail, if known, of the person or persons who will be in charge of conducting the proposed event. The Borough may impose additional information requirements in the application from time to time. The applicant may be required to provide a certificate of insurance for the activity described in the application naming the Borough of Barnegat Light as an additional insured party on the same. The applicant shall be responsible for, and may be required to post a security deposit for, cleanup and/or damages, in the discretion of the Borough. All applications shall be presented to the Borough Council, which may grant or refuse to grant the permit requested, in its sole discretion, where the requested use would be detrimental to the health, safety and welfare of the public, or otherwise interfere with the public's use of recreational facilities.

A. 
An applicant for a special event permit shall include the special event permit fee of $250. In the event that the permit application is denied, the Borough shall refund $200 of said application fee.
B. 
The Mayor and Borough Council may grant special event permit fee waivers or partial waivers by resolution, as permitted by law.
C. 
In the event that an applicant wishes to include in the special event the use of the Borough Tram for beach access, the fee for the same, if the Tram and the Tram operator are available, shall be $250 for up to two hours of Tram service (minimum), plus an additional $60 per hour for each additional hour or part thereof that the Tram is needed. The Borough Tram will be available for use in connection with special event permit activities only after normal beach business hours.
