§ 21-1 Establishment; membership.

There shall be a local Board of Health for the Borough of Buena composed of seven members, one of whom shall be a practicing physician.

§ 21-2 Terms of office; vacancies.

The members of the local Board shall be nominated by the Mayor and appointed by a majority vote of the Council, one for a one-year term, two for two-year terms, and the remainder for three-year terms. On the expiration of a member's term of office, his successor shall be appointed for the term of three years.

Vacancies on the Board shall be filled in the same manner in which the original appointments were made, but for the unexpired portion of the term only.

§ 21-3 Appointment of Sanitary Inspector and other employees.

Said local Board shall appoint a Sanitary Inspector and such other inspectors and employees as it may deem necessary to carry out and comply with the laws of the State of New Jersey. Said inspectors and other employees shall be licensed and otherwise qualified as required by law. The Board of Health shall fix the duties, term and compensation of every appointee.

§ 21-4 Powers and duties.

The local Board of Health shall have the powers and duties as prescribed in N.J.S.A. 26:3-31 and other laws of the New Jersey Statutes Annotated.
The local Board shall fix the salary of all inspectors and other employees it may employ and do any and all other things required of it by law.
