The Borough of Dormont hereby authorizes, directs and provides for the creation of a joint municipal authority, along with Castle Shannon Borough, Baldwin Township and the Municipality of Mt. Lebanon, pursuant to the Municipality Authorities Act, 53 Pa.C.S.A. § 5601 et seq. (the "Act"), for the purpose of providing emergency medical service and medical and ambulance equipment, facilities and service to the incorporating municipalities, and other communities at their request, and exercising all powers under that Act.
The name of the joint municipal authority shall be the "Medical Rescue Team South Authority" (the "Authority").
The Authority shall be in existence for a period of 50 years, unless sooner dissolved according to law.
The governing board of the Authority shall consist of eight members, two of whom shall be appointed by each of the participating municipalities in the Authority pursuant to the provisions of the Authority's Articles of Incorporation and bylaws.
The Authority shall have all the rights and powers granted to municipal authorities by the Act.
The appropriate officials are hereby authorized to execute the Articles of Incorporation and all other documents necessary to effectuate the creation of the Authority under the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.[1]
