The Mayor is authorized to appoint and employ a qualified Engineer
as City Engineer, with the approval of the Board of Aldermen.

The appointment of a City Engineer shall be for a term of one
(1) year beginning with the installation of the new City Officials
after the regular City election in each year and extending until the
installation of new City Officials after the regular City election
the next succeeding year.

The salary of the City Engineer shall be set by ordinance.

It shall be the duty of the City Engineer to attend all Plan
Commission meetings and all regular meetings and all special meetings
of the Board of Aldermen where his/her presence is requested. He/she
shall in addition, handle other duties as assigned by the Mayor and/or
City Administrator and he/she shall be separately compensated for
such work.
