It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation, whether a resident of the Town of Belvidere or otherwise, to hawk, peddle or, as an itinerant vendor, to sell or offer for sale any goods, wares, merchandise or produce of any kind or description without first obtaining a license so to do from the Town Clerk of the Town of Belvidere.
Each applicant shall pay for such license a license fee in the sum of $30.
This article shall not apply to any person or persons who may be exempt by state law from securing such license.

Any person violating any provision of this article shall, upon conviction thereof, be punishable by a fine of not more than $500 or by imprisonment for not more than 90 days, or both.
