The officer or firefighter assigned to maintenance shall be under the direction of the Fire Chief.
The officer or firefighter assigned to maintenance shall:
A. 
Supervise all members assigned or detailed to maintenance.
B. 
Be responsible for the maintenance and repair of all apparatus and equipment in the Department.
C. 
Report to the Chief any abuse of motors or apparatus or any lack of care of such equipment which comes to their attention.
D. 
Set up rules and procedures governing the inspection, lubrication and operation of equipment.
E. 
Report to the Fire Chief when, in their opinion, any piece of apparatus is for any reason unfit for further service.
F. 
Prepare and submit to the Fire Chief a report in October of each year stating the repairs or replacements that, in their opinion, will be necessary during the following year to apparatus and equipment.
G. 
Respond to multiple alarms of fire and other emergencies when called by the officer in charge and, while assisting in control of such emergencies, observe particularly the operation of equipment.
H. 
Make records and reports and perform such other duties as the Fire Chief may require, including firefighting.
