The service charge for a check or other written instrument returned
to the Borough of Merchantville or any of its departments or agencies
for insufficient funds shall be the sum of $20.00.
Subsequent to the issuance of a check or other written instrument
returned for insufficient funds twice, the authorization is granted
to the appropriate municipal official to require future payments to
be tendered in cash or by certified or cashier's check during
a two-year period from the date of last return for insufficiency of
funds.
The service charge for a check or other written instrument returned
to the Borough of Merchantville or any of its departments or agencies
for insufficient funds shall be added to the property tax lien, sewer
utility lien or any other charge assessed by the Borough of Merchantville
or any of its departments or agencies.
