As used in this chapter:
BOARDING HOMES AND NURSERY SCHOOLS FOR CHILDREN
Shall mean any place where one or more children are regularly
received for care, apart from their parent, close relative or natural
guardian, whether it be for periods less than one day or for longer
periods shall be defined as a boardinghouse or nursery school for
children, exclusive of those homes licensed or under the supervision
of the State Department of Institutions and Agencies, or licensed
or under the supervision of the State Department of Education.

No person shall conduct or maintain any such boarding home or
nursery school for children without a written license from the Board
of Health. The fee for the license shall be $50 per year, which fee
shall accompany the application and will expire on December 31.

No license above provided for shall be granted for a term exceeding
one year.

Every such license shall state the name of the licensee, the
particular premises in or at which the business shall be carried on,
and the number of children that may be maintained, boarded or cared
for at any one time; and said license shall be posted in a conspicuous
place in the house or other place at which the business is conducted.

The record of such license when issued shall be kept by the
Board of Health. The license shall be subject to revocation for violation
of any of the regulations mentioned herein or in the State Sanitary
Code.

No greater number of children shall be kept at one time on the
premises than is authorized in the license, and no children shall
be kept or disposed of within a building or place not designated in
the license.

At least once a month the Board of Health shall visit and inspect,
or designate persons to visit and inspect, the premises, and investigate
the manner of conducting the business licensed.
Such persons shall have the right to call for and examine the
records required by these regulations to be kept, and to inquire into
all matters concerning such licensed premises and the children therein,
and it shall be the duty of the licensee to give all information to
such persons and afford them every reasonable facility for examining
the records, inspecting the premises and seeing the inmates thereof.
