As used in this article, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
HOUSE CAR or CAMP CAR
Any unit used for living, sleeping or business purposes,
by one or more persons, which is equipped with wheels or similar devices
used for the purpose of transporting said unit from place to place,
whether it be self-propelled or otherwise.
TRAILER
Any motor-drawn vehicle as defined in and by N.J.S.A. 39:1-1,
or a vehicle of any size or shape upon wheels or other means of support,
capable of being transported by attachment to a motor vehicle or moved
by other means.
It shall be unlawful within the limits of the Borough of Wildwood
Crest for any person, firm or corporation to park or place or permit
the parking or placing of any trailer, house car, camp car or permit
to be erected, used or installed a tent or other temporary shelter
used or to be used as a living facility or as a temporary dwelling
or sleeping place.
A house car or camp car as defined in §
75-1 shall be permitted to be parked on a private premises in accordance with, and subject to, the following restrictions:
A. No part of the house car or camp car shall extend within five feet
of the property line on either side of the property on which it is
parked, or within 15 feet of the rear property line, or parked in
a manner so that any portion of the unit on the property shall extend
closer to the street than the front of the main portion of the building
used for occupancy on the same premises, excluding any porch.
B. No house car or camp car shall be parked on a vacant lot.
C. Must be parked or stored perpendicular to the curbline.
D. No house car or camp car shall exceed 35 feet in total length.
E. The owner of the house car or camp car must be the occupant of the
premises on which the unit is parked.
F. No more than one house car or camp car shall be permitted to be parked
on a private premise.
G. No house car or camp car shall be used for dwelling purposes, as
sleeping quarters, or otherwise occupied and shall not be provided
with utility connections other than required for vehicle maintenance.
H. No house car or camp car shall be used for the storage of any items
or material, nor shall it be used for storage or space for the conduct
of a business, profession, occupation or trade.
I. Existing nonconforming parked house cars or camp cars are not exempt
from the above provisions, as of the effective date of this article.
No person, firm or corporation shall place or allow to be placed
any structure, regardless of size, upon any of the public property,
highways or public rights-of-way of the Borough of Wildwood Crest
for the purpose of storage, or advertising, or to be used in any manner
for the directing of pedestrian or vehicular traffic.
