Except as required by law, material supplied to the Maplewood Community Board on Police by the Maplewood Police Department shall be unredacted.
A. 
Notwithstanding anything to the contrary set forth in this chapter as amended, within the Maplewood Community Board on Police, there shall be a subcommittee known as the Civilian Review Board, whose function shall be to review internal affair investigations of the Maplewood Police Department consistent with the policies and procedures promulgated by the New Jersey Attorney General, as same may from time to time be supplemented or amended.
B. 
The Civilian Review Board shall consist of three members chosen by the Community Board on Police from its membership. Members of the Civilian Review Board shall serve at the pleasure of the Community Board on Police.
C. 
All members of the Civilian Review Board shall comply with and be subject to the rules and regulations promulgated by the New Jersey Attorney General, including but not limited to those set forth in Attorney General Law Enforcement Directive No. 2020-7, Subsections 9.7 and 9.8, as same may be supplemented or amended.
D. 
The Civilian Review Board shall report back to the full Community Board on Police the results of its review subject to and in compliance with the confidentiality requirements of the Attorney General guidelines.
The Community Board on Police may retain legal counsel on its behalf, subject to the approval of the Maplewood Township Attorney. The cost of counsel retained by the Community Board on Police shall be paid by the Township of Maplewood.
