The City has deployed safety sticks technology at various locations
to monitor parking activity and enforce parking regulations in certain
no-parking zones such as fire hydrants, bus stops, crosswalks, and
loading zones.
Any person who violates the provisions of this section of the
Code shall be punished by a fine in the amount of $60. A separate
offense shall be deemed committed on each day the vehicle remains
parked in violation of this article. No court appearance is necessary.
Any unoccupied vehicle parked or standing in violation of this
article shall be deemed a nuisance and a menace to the safe and proper
regulation of traffic, and any peace officer may provide for the removal
of such vehicle. The owner shall pay the reasonable costs of the removal
and storage, which may result from such removal, before regaining
possession of the vehicle.
Enforcement of this article and further rules and regulations
as may be promulgated from time to time shall be under the jurisdiction
the Police Department of the City of Garfield or the Parking Enforcement
Officers of the City of Garfield.
