A plan of the entire Borough displaying all streets, highways, roads, driveways, lanes and alleys thereof, and indicating the lots therein, shall be prepared and maintained by the Borough Engineer in conjunction with the U.S. Postal Service. It shall be the duty of the Borough Building Inspector and Code Enforcement Officer in conjunction with the U.S. Postal Service to number said lots in such manner as to secure a uniform system for numbering houses and buildings within the Borough.
All numbers shall be in Arabic numerals, in clearly visible colors, at least three inches (76 mm) high, 1/2 inch (13 mm) stroke, and placed in a position easily observed and readable from the public right-of-way. It shall be the responsibility of the owner(s) or occupant(s) of each house and building to place and maintain assigned numbers.
The Building Inspector shall notify the owner(s) or occupant(s) to place assigned street numbers on the property within 30 days after notification, according to § 99-2 of this chapter.
Upon the completion of any new house or building, the owner(s) or occupant(s) shall comply with the provisions of this chapter before occupying the house or building.
All numbered houses shall become part of the occupancy inspection and no permit shall be issued without complying with the provisions of this chapter.
Any person(s) who shall violate any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay a fine of up to $600, plus costs, and in default of payment of said fine and costs, to a term of imprisonment not to exceed 30 days. Each day that a violation of this chapter continues shall constitute a separate offense.
