A. 
The rates set forth shall be for single passengers, and there shall be a charge of $0.50 for each additional passenger regardless of age.
B. 
The rate that may be charged passengers of taxicabs licensed under this chapter shall not exceed the following from the hour of 6:00 a.m. to the hour of 10:00 p.m.: There will be a maximum charge of up to $5 for the dropoff fee plus a maximum charge of up to $1.50 per mile, calculated at $0.15 for each 1/10 mile; provided, however, that the minimum fare permitted will be up to $6.50 regardless of the distance traveled.
C. 
The rate that may be charged passengers of taxicabs licensed under this chapter shall not exceed the following from the hour of 10:00 p.m. to the hour of 6:00 a.m.: There will be a maximum charge of up to $6 for the dropoff fee plus a maximum charge of up to $3 per mile, calculated at $0.30 for each 1/10 mile; provided, however, that the minimum fare permitted will be up to $9 regardless of the distance traveled.
D. 
The rate that may be charged passengers 62 years of age or older, of taxicabs licensed under this chapter, shall not exceed the following from the hour of 9:00 a.m. to the hour of 3:00 p.m.: There will be a maximum charge of up to $2 for the dropoff fee plus a maximum charge of up to $1 per mile, calculated at $0.10 for each 1/10 mile; provided, however, that the minimum fare permitted will be up to $3 regardless of the distance traveled.
E. 
Additional charges by a licensee under this chapter shall be limited to the following categories and shall not exceed the following. The rates must be posted in accordance with § 421-8D of this chapter:
(1) 
Groceries: no charge for the first two bags and $0.25 for each additional bag.
(2) 
Laundry; luggage: a charge of $2 when an item or items is transported in the luggage compartment of a taxicab on behalf of a passenger or passengers.
(3) 
Additional stop: a charge of $1 for each, after initial pickup, on any specific call.
(4) 
Animal: a charge of $3 for each to be transported on behalf of a passenger or passengers, which can be waived at a company's discretion.
(5) 
Waiting time: There will be no charge for the first five minutes and $1.50 for each subsequent period of five minutes or any part thereof.
(6) 
Additional items: Taxicab owners have a right to make reasonable charges for items not covered by this chapter.
Taxicab license holders may request rate changes by submitting proposed new rates in writing to the Municipal Clerk prior to August 1 each year.
