The purpose of this article is to establish
a residency requirement for its Fire Chief and Assistant Fire Chiefs.
It is the belief of the Village Board of the Village of Wappingers
Falls that said residency requirement will assist in the administration
of the Fire Department and the response time of the Fire Chief and
Assistant Chiefs by requiring their proximity to the Village boundaries.
It shall be required that any person serving
the Village of Wappingers Falls as either Fire Chief or Assistant
Chief must reside within the Village of Wappingers Falls or within
three miles, as determined by accessible public highways, of the Village
boundary.
