The Town of Old Lyme confirms the adoption of the provisions of the Connecticut General Statutes relating to municipal flood and erosion control boards in Title 25, Chapter 477, Part II, of the Connecticut General Statutes[1] and confirms the establishment of the Old Lyme Flood and Erosion Control Board by prior votes of the Town Meetings of October 17, 1955, and October 18, 1956.

Said Board shall consist of five members. Each such member shall be an elector of the Town of Old Lyme and shall be appointed by the Board of Selectmen for the term specified in Chapter 101, Officers and Employees, Article V, Terms of Office, adopted December 17, 1984.
A. 
For the Board terms in effect as of the date of adoption of this amendment, which terms all expire on the second Monday of January 2010, the terms of two members shall be extended for an additional one year, that is, until the second Monday of January 2011, as determined by the Board of Selectmen. Thereafter, terms of all members shall be for two years in accordance with Chapter 101, Article V.
B. 
Said Board shall have three alternate members appointed by the Board of Selectmen to serve for one-year terms commencing in January 2010.
The Board of Selectmen is authorized to fill any vacancies which occur on said Board.
