No person over the age of 18 who has been convicted of a violation of any crime against a minor as listed in N.J.S.A. 2C:7-2, and who as a result of said conviction is required to register with the proper authorities pursuant to N.J.S.A. 2C:7-1 et seq., Registration and notification of release of Certain Offenders, shall be permitted to reside or live within 2,500 feet of any school, park or playground or day-care center in the City of Margate.
A person who resides or lives within 2,500 feet of any school, park, playground or day-care center in the City shall have 60 days from receipt of written notice of the prohibition set forth herein to move. Failure to move to a location which is in compliance with this article within that time period shall constitute a violation of this article.
This article shall not apply to a person who has established a residence prior to August 4, 2005.
Any violation of this article shall be punishable by one or more of the penalties contained in section 1-3, including: a fine of not less than $1,250, nor more than $5,000; imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months; a period of community service not exceeding 90 days.
