The Board of Trustees desires to establish a procedure for the fixing of water rates or rents and service charges; for the collection of said rates or rents and charges; for the adoption of rules and regulations governing the use of water and the water system; and providing penalties for violation of such rules and regulations.
Water shall be furnished by the Village of Nassau at such rates as may be established from time to time by resolution of the Board of Trustees of the village and shall be billed semiannually on April 1 and October 1 of each year.
All water bills shall be due and payable on presentation. If not paid within thirty (30) days of presentation, a penalty of ten percent (10%) shall be added to said bill.
All water bills remaining unpaid sixty (60) days after presentation will result in the discontinuance of the water service following written notice. Such water service shall not be restored until the bill, all penalties and service and administration charges shall have been paid in full.[1]

In addition, water bills for nonvillage consumers may include such sums as are necessary to pay the cost of any repairs and capital improvements to the water mains located outside of the village limits which furnish water to the nonvillage consumers.
The consumer shall be responsible for any damage, whatever the cause, to or by water lines or equipment within the curb box of the serviced premises, such damages to be computed by the Village of Nassau on a time and material basis. The consumer will pay such charges on receipt of the village's invoice.
