The Department of Recreation shall be supervised by the Recreation Director. The Recreation Director shall report to the Business Administrator.

The Director of the Department of Recreation shall be responsible for the following:
A. 
Prepare, implement and oversee all recreation programs and activities, including but not limited to elementary school age children, high school age children, young adults through seniors.
B. 
Organize and manage civic and cultural affairs, such as Memorial Day parades and ceremonies; Veterans Day ceremonies; holiday tree lighting; summer concert series; and Manchester Day.
C. 
Organize and supervise registration for recreation programs and trips.
D. 
Regularly inspect all recreational facilities and related apparatus, including playground equipment, bleachers, ball fields, fountains, fencing, and bathrooms.
E. 
Ensure compliance with current safety and insurance standards at all facilities and by all equipment.
F. 
Secure employees and enlist the required services (including volunteers) to implement and effectively administer the appropriate programs within the Township.
G. 
Such other duties relevant to recreation as may be directed by the Mayor and/or Business Administrator.

A. 
The Department of Recreation shall be authorized to organize trips for recreational, educational or entertainment purposes.
B. 
Fees. Fees to be charged to those persons who participate in those trips will be set from time to time by resolution. The resolution shall set forth the name of the trip, date of the trip and the fee to be charged to each person per event or program.
