[HISTORY: Adopted by the Town Board of the Town of Oneonta 12-13-1989. Amendments
noted where applicable.]
It is hereby resolved by the Town Board of the Town of Oneonta,
pursuant to § 85 of the General Municipal Law, that the
Town of Oneonta imposes a mandatory service charge of $15 for any
check written to the town for payment of any account owing to the
town which is returned for insufficient funds.
In the event that the account to be paid, for which the check
is returned is for a tax, special ad valorum levy or special assessment,
the service charge shall be included on whatever list of delinquent
accounts is prepared for the enforcement of the lien.
The town reserves the right, in the event of a returned check,
to require future payment of such account by cash or by certified
or bank cashier's check.
