Editor's Note: The ordaining clause of this ordinance provided as follows: "Pursuant to Articles III and V of the Constitution of the Menominee Indian Tribe there is hereby established, in accordance with the following provisions of this ordinance, the Menominee Tribal Judiciary, vested with all judicial powers of the Menominee Indian Tribe, and the Law and Order Code of the Menominee Indian Tribe. The Law and Order Code enacted herein is adopted on an interim basis until such time as a more complete Law and Order Code is fully drafted and ready to be implemented. With respect to all matters covered in this Law and Order Code, the Tribal Judiciary shall have broad discretion to construe its provisions in a reasonable manner to promote the interests of justice consistent with applicable federal law and the Tribal Constitution. The Menominee Tribal Judiciary, however, shall have no power to waive the requirements of the Menominee Indian Bill of Rights included in this Law and Order Code."
