The location and boundaries of the Easton Sewer District are
hereby established as shown on a map titled: "Town of Easton, Massachusetts,
Proposed Sewer District" dated May 17, 2010, hereinafter called "the
Easton Sewer District Map," and accepted by approval of Article 19
at the 2010 Annual Town Meeting on May 17, 2010, which accompanies
and is hereby declared to be a part of this chapter. Said Map shall
be kept on record at the Town Clerk's Office and may be amended
from time to time by the Town Meeting.
Any change in the location of boundaries of the District shall
only be made through the amendment of this chapter and shall be indicated
by the dated alteration of the Easton Sewer District Map; and the
Map, as altered, shall become a part of this chapter, as amended.
It shall be the responsibility of the Board of Sewer Commissioners
to recommend such alterations; and said recommended alterations shall
require a vote of Town Meeting.
Where any uncertainty exists with respect to the boundary of
any portion of the District, as shown on the Easton Sewer District
Map, the following rules apply:
A. Where a boundary is indicated as a street, railroad, watercourse
or other body of water, it shall be construed to be the centerline
or middle thereof, or where such boundary approximates a Town boundary,
then to the limits of the Town boundary.
B. Where a boundary is indicated as following approximately or parallel
to a street, railroad, watercourse, or other body of water, it shall
be construed to be parallel thereto and at such distance there from
as dimensioned on the Easton Sewer District Map. If no dimension is
given, such distance shall be determined by use of the scale shown
on the Easton Sewer District Map.
C. Where a boundary is indicated as intersecting the centerline of a
street, railroad, watercourse or other water body, it shall be construed
to intersect at right angles to said centerline, or in the case of
a curved centerline, at right angle to the tangent to the curve at
the point of intersection.
D. Whenever any dispute arises on the District boundaries as to the
exact location of a District boundary line, the location of such line
shall be determined by the Board of Sewer Commissioners.
