The Town of Greenville via Resolution 2008-08 adopted a policy
and procedures in conformance with Pennsylvania Act 3 of 2008, known
as the "Right-to-Know Law," to provide for public access to public information, including
financial records that are not exempt under Section 708 of PA Act
3 of 2008, not exempt from being disclosed under any other federal
or state law or regulation or judicial order or decree or not protected
by a privilege, and to designate an Open Records Officer to implement
the policy and procedures.
Rules and regulations governing access to public records shall
be promulgated by the Town Manager in accordance with the Commonwealth
of Pennsylvania's Right-to-Know Law. The Rules and Regulations
shall be posted in the office of the Town Manager, in department offices
and reception areas, as well as the Greenville Area Public Library
and Greenville's official website.
No citizen shall have the right to examine or copy any records
to which the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or the Town
in accordance with state law deny public access.
Any citizen shall have the right to appeal the denial of access
to Greenville's public records in accordance with the Commonwealth
of Pennsylvania, Right-to-Know Law.
