Notwithstanding any other provision of this City Code related to interest
charged on debts due and owing to the City of Peekskill, the interest rate
which shall be applied and charged by the City of Peekskill for all debts
and obligations due and owing to the city from any person, corporation or
other entity shall be 1 1/2% per month, or part thereof, for any period
during which such debt or obligation remains outstanding after the due date
for the payment thereof. Nothing in this section shall prevent the original
imposition of any fine or penalty set forth in this City Code. Upon the imposition
of such fine or penalty, including increases thereof mandated by state law
or by any provision of this Code, the interest rate set forth herein shall
also apply to the amount of such fine or penalty. To the extent that any other
provision of this City Code is inconsistent herewith, this section shall be
deemed to control.
