It shall be unlawful for any person or association to conduct or maintain a boarding home or camp for children or to engage in or assist in conducting a business of placing children without having a written license therefor from the Board of Health of this municipality, provided that nothing in this chapter shall apply to any institution or department maintained or operated by the State of New Jersey.
License fees are indicated in Article XVI, § 496-123.
A record of such license, when issued, shall be kept by the Board of Health. Said license shall be subject to revocation for violation of any of the regulations mentioned therein or whenever, in the judgment of the Board of Health, such boarding home or camp is no longer needed or is not conducive to the well-being of the children.
Boarding homes and camps for children shall comply with all rules and regulations promulgated by the New Jersey State Department of Health or by the local Board of Health.
All licensees must submit evidence to the Board of Health of having a surety bond for $1,000 for each child boarded from outside of the state.
