[HISTORY: Adopted by the Township of Howell 2-19-2002 by Ord. No. O-02-4. Amendments noted where applicable.]
The following restrictions for the use of skateboards at the Deerwood Park Skateboard Park are established:
A. 
All persons using the skateboard park must wear SNELL- or ANSI-approved helmets for the sport.
B. 
All persons using the skateboard park must wear knee and elbow pads and wrist guards.
C. 
The construction of any obstacles must first be approved by the Howell Township Police Department, Building Officials, and the Director of Parks, Recreations, Buildings and Grounds. The design, stability and structural integrity shall be evaluated prior to its use.
D. 
Use of the skateboard park will be in concert with established park operation hours.
E. 
All restrictions already in place with regard to Deerwood Park will be enforced; i.e., use of alcohol and/or drugs.
F. 
Any disruptive gathering will necessitate the skateboard park closure by order of the Chief of Police or his designee.
G. 
No glass is permitted in or near the skateboard park area.
H. 
Alcoholic beverages are not permitted on any Township property.
I. 
The Township of Howell is not responsible for lost items or theft of personal property.
Failure to comply with the equipment requirements of this chapter shall result in the following penalty:
A. 
First offense: fine of $50 plus presentation of receipt as proof of purchase for missing equipment item(s) and the presentation of said item(s).
B. 
Second offense: fine of $100.
C. 
Third offense: one-year suspension from the skateboard park.
D. 
Fourth offense: permanently banned from the skateboard park.
These rules and regulations shall take affect immediately, and the necessary signage shall be installed at the park accordingly.
