The City of Brigantine specifically adopts this chapter pursuant to N.J.S.A. 17:36-9 et seq.
This chapter shall specifically prohibit the payment to any claimant under a fire insurance policy of any claim in excess of $2,500 for fire damages to real property located within the City of Brigantine until such time as anticipated demolition costs and all taxes and assessments and all other municipal liens or charges due and payable, appearing on the official certificate of search, and/or all taxes and assessments and all other municipal liens or charges due and payable appearing on the official certificate of search shall have been paid either by the owner of the real property in question or the insurance company providing fire insurance for the same.
A copy of this chapter shall be sent to the State Commissioner of Insurance.
