The title of this chapter shall be an "Ordinance to Provide for the Appointment of an Independent Auditor and Abolishing the Office of Elected Auditors and Repealing All Acts Inconsistent Herewith."
The position of elected Borough Auditor is hereby abolished.
The Council shall, by resolution, appoint, before the close of the fiscal year, an independent auditor who shall be a certified public accountant, a registered firm of certified public accountants or a competent public accountant or firm of public accountants to make an independent examination of the accounting records of the borough for such fiscal year. The independent auditor shall also perform other duties and exercise the powers as conferred upon him by Article XI of the Borough Code, as amended.[1]
