The following rules and regulations shall govern
the operation and maintenance of the compost site:
A. No material except leaves shall be deposited in windrows
at the compost site. Brown paper (kraft) bags be used to bundle said
leaves.
(1) Wood chips, Christmas trees, yard waste and grass
clippings may be accepted at the compost site when deposited in conjunction
with an established program for such items.
(2) The dumping or disposal of any other solid waste,
including plastic bags, is prohibited.
B. The dumping or disposal in said compost site of any
materials from a source outside of the Town of Branford is prohibited,
except to the extent authorized by the Board of Selectmen, after consultation
with the Solid Waste Management Commission.
C. There shall be no scavenging at the compost site unless
authorized by the Board of Selectmen, after consultation with the
Solid Waste Management Commission.
D. The dumping or disposal of material at the compost
site shall be subject to such further rules and regulations as may
be established by the Board of Selectmen from time to time, after
consultation with the Solid Waste Management Commission.
