The purpose of this chapter is to protect the health and safety of the citizens of Oconto Falls by restricting the use of potentially dangerous explosives and fireworks.
A parent or legal guardian whose minor child uses fireworks assumes full liability for their use.
A. 
Possession and use. No person shall display, possess, set off or cause to be set off any Class B or C fireworks within the City of Oconto Falls. Class D fireworks will be permitted only if their use does not endanger the safety of the citizens of Oconto Falls.
B. 
Sale. No person shall sell Class B or C fireworks in the City of Oconto Falls.
The City of Oconto Falls hereby adopts § 167.10, Wis. Stats.
Exceptions shall be made for licensed commercial fireworks companies to display, set off or cause to be set off fireworks. A permit must first be obtained from the Fire Chief or designee of the City of Oconto Falls. Only Class B fireworks will be set off. The permit must have the approval of the Fire Chief and Police Chief and must be sought prior to the date the event is to take place. Proof of insurance, in a minimum amount of $1,000,000, shall be required of anyone wishing to obtain a permit.

A. 
Possession and use. Any person found guilty of the possession or use of fireworks prohibited by this chapter shall be subject to a forfeiture of not less than $50 nor more than $500 plus costs of prosecution.
B. 
Sale. Any person found guilty of the sale of fireworks prohibited by this chapter shall be subject to a forfeiture of not less than $100 nor more than $1,000 plus costs of prosecution.
