A. 
Every officer or employee of the Borough of Fort Lee who is presently a member of the reserves or National Guard of the Armed Forces, upon being called to active duty in the Armed Forces of the United States in time of war shall be granted a leave of absence from the Borough of Fort Lee for a period of 180 days or for the period of required service, whichever is less.
B. 
Any employee granted a leave of absence pursuant to Subsection A hereof shall be entitled to receive his or her full salary, less any pay or salary received for service in the Armed Forces of the United States during such leave of absence.
C. 
In addition to the salary granted by the Borough of Fort Lee pursuant to Subsection B hereof, any employee granted a leave of absence shall be entitled to all benefits provided by the Borough of Fort Lee, including but not limited to health and other insurances during the period of such leave of absence.
D. 
Leaves of absence may be extended under the same terms and conditions for additional one-hundred-eighty-day periods upon application to and approval by the Mayor and Council.
